1952 Born in Osaka, 1977 Graduated from Musashino Art University. Studied stage performance art, such as opera and ballet. 1985 Established Kannami Design Institute which covers the areas such as international design project, creative works for branding, collaboration with US/European designers and architects. 1999 Takes a teaching post at Musashino Art University. 2011 Appointed as chairperson of Japan Design Space Association (honorary chairperson since 2017). 2016 Appointed as a brand advisory group member for Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. 2017 Appointed as a Tokyo 2020 Olympics Mascot Selection Panel member. In private life, enjoys visiting national parks in the US and great natures in the world (My Favorite Great American Nature). Inherited historical records of Osakaya (Osakaya Kuzaemon Successful Merchant) a merchant’s family in the Edo period.
